Every year about this time my mind turns from blackjack to horse racing and specifically the Grand National, the ‘National’ as it is known is England’s most popular horse race. It’s run at Aintree race course in Liverpool and has been for the last 100 years. It’s a steeplechase race which means that the horse have to jump big fences during the race, at over four miles long it’s a tough test for any horse and rider.

I normally don’t bother looking at the racing form, I’m old school and pick my horse by sticking a pin in the newspaper on the morning of the race!
